The Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce will honor Garden Grove Hospital as the Large Business of the Year at a gala event scheduled for Saturday, August 25. Garden Grove Hospital was selected based on its contributions to the business community and its history caring for the citizens of Garden Grove and the surrounding areas.
In addition to its commitment to deliver the best care possible to the citizens of Garden Grove, Garden Grove Hospital is committed to supporting the community through free screenings, immunizations, community sponsorships and health fairs.
For the past two years the hospital has provided more than 200 free cardiac screenings to Garden Grove High School football players in memory of Kevin Telles, a 17-year-old player who collapsed and died during an Argonaut football game in 2009.
The hospital provides free flu shots annually, free diabetes education classes in English and Spanish, and community support through sponsorships to numerous Garden Grove events and organizations such as The Korean American Festival, Arab American Festival, Vietnamese Tet Festival, Strawberry Festival, Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce events, We Give Thanks Thanksgiving Meal, Explorers program, Santa Ana College Pageant of the Trees, Moms Orange County, Clinton Corner Health Fair, Hamni Family Counseling Center and Supervisor Janet Nguyen's Senior Caregiver Expo and Central Orange County Health Fair. This is only a small representation of the hospital's community involvement throughout the year.
